TOPIC 1: correcthorsebatterystaple: hacking passwords by example

Abstract: What makes a good password? We imagine our passwords our strong (hopefully yours are), but are they really? Well imagine no more, we will take a look at password strength by going through the excersize of cracking them. We use some of the traditional technique such as rainbow tables but also how the world of GPU based cracking has opened up new doors.

TOPIC 2: Securing Your Privacy
Speaker: Josh Hamit (LinkedIn)

Abstract: How can I protect my privacy in light of Edward Snowden’s leaks? Does it even matter? We’ll investigate these questions and discuss how to develop and implement a strategy to exercise your right to privacy.
